Overview
CEN delivered a turnkey programme across four South Wales mosques for YnNi Teg Cymru with the Bengal Dragons Foundation, installing Solar PV and battery storage engineered to reduce operational costs and carbon footprints for community-focused organisations.
Each site is a live place of worship, with its own schedule, community activity and legacy electrical condition — see Project challenges below for how CEN planned around each.
Measures and technologies
- Solar PV — roof-mounted across four sites, total >52kW installed capacity
- Battery Storage — lithium-ion, total 81kWh across the portfolio
- Immersion diverters — divert excess solar to hot water cylinders for ablution (Wudu) and cleaning facilities
- Roof inspection and remediation (structural integrity prior to installation)
- Electrical safety upgrades where dual supplies, undersized fuses or unsafe legacy wiring were identified
- G99/DNO applications managed by CEN
